One potato, too: my observations on imagination and creativity.

How would I describe myself? Intelligent, funny, a good and loyal friend (I sound like someone's pet!) I'm a university graduate whose life and career have followed quite a winding path. I work for myself as an art director providing branding solutions to small businesses, individuals and community groups. I am Canadian - thus, suitably polite, eh? - and I live in Central Ontario.
One of my favourite past times is roaming through art galleries and museums. Some of my most memorable visits have been to the British Museum, the Tate Modern, the Centre Georges Pompidou, the National Gallery of Canada and the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Oh, and I am a formerly obese person who shed 60 lbs. in 2010 and have kept it off for over a year. Ask me how CrossFit helped me transform my life.

From the National Film Board of Canada’s website, here’s an amusing story of Dorothy Sue Ann Murguson. The film is a clever combination of puppetry, animation and drawing.

The Telegraph’s travel section has published a photo gallery of forgotten London Underground posters. For someone like me who responds to typography, these are beautiful examples. I think “The Tate Gallery by Tube” is especially clever!
If only all legal matters were presented in such an entertaining way.

If you can look beyond the poor design of this website, the article is actually quite informative. I think many graphic designers mumble, too!
What a fascinating exhibition this would be! Here is a video from the BBC about Grayson Perry’s tribute to craftsmanship at the British Museum.

Hats off to the Victoria & Albert Museum in London, England for their beautifully designed holiday gift catalogue. It is visually stunning, full but not overwhelmed with products. Also, from a technical standpoint, the online version works without a hitch. Now, perhaps it’s time to go shopping….
